'The Young Dog' Program

'The Young Dog' Program helps you understand your puppy better as well as introduce your puppy to calm and fun filled first impressions.

First impressions are so important for a puppy, so I encourage you to understand that you can introduce your dog to objects (people, places, and things) yourself and build trust and confidence.  Typically puppies start wondering out to safe environments around 10-11 weeks of age. I will help you identify these environments to keep your puppy safe.

'The Young Dog' Program emphasizes on the importances of understanding key training concepts, understanding who your young puppy is (breed characteristics, etc.) and understanding how to best communicate with them while their small bodies and minds grow.

Join the fun while attending the K9 Manners program and learn the encouraging language of positive reinforcement and negative discouragement that will provide a rewarding, respectful, lifelong relationship between you and your puppy!  The training philosophy is outlined under training, or you can contact me on my mobile at 828-712-4245

After your puppy has seen your local vet and has gotten their first 2 vet immunity shots, your puppy is welcome into 'The Young Dog' Progarm.

If you have any questions during this critical time, please understand we are here to provide you with the tools needed to raise your puppy to live a good K9 life.  Before, during or after your puppy class participation, private coaching is available.  There, you will receive individual attention. During your class I am available for questions, but private coaching is encouraged if you feel you need more help.

When To Start?
I can meet with you as soon as your puppy comes into your home.
I encourage people to reach out for help. It is so valuable to get guidance from the start.
If you have a young puppy, please reach out for a private lesson.
I like to get two or three healthy pups together for some fun meet-n-greet sessions until they are old enough to come into the K9 Manners Level One class.
These sessions are created organically by people calling in. Please reach out for guidance.

  • Focus and attention games are played which helps your transition into real life scenerios.
  • Coming when called and leash manners are explained
  • Impulse control games with common activities
  • Question / Answer Time [this is the most popular since typically you have a lot of questions]

Puppy Program: Starts as soon as you get home!

This program is offered privately and can start before you bring your puppy home or a few days after.
This Puppy Program is designed to help owners understand and implement a structured routine and socialization plan.  In your home, where puppies seem to feel the safest, your puppy will learn a whole new routine, beginning focus work, easy positions, and coming when called.  You will learn how to communicate with your new puppy to ensure a healthy relationship emerges -- how to address nipping, jumping, and other common puppy behaviors.

Then, after they have two shots of immunity under their belt, we can start going to safe environments to practice socialization and other behaviors.  All behaviors will be shown at home so that the puppies understanding and desire to preform is high before we take the "show" on the road.

Please call or text me to schedule your first visit:  828-712-4245
